New Purchase - GreenStar Agricultural Corp

When I originally purchased TransForce (TFI.TO), it was more or less a crapshoot. I liked that many directors on TFI’s board were also on Saputo’s board. And the share price was really cheap.

I recently sold TFI and replaced it with another crapshoot – GreenStar Agricultural Corp (GRE.TO). This company has a market cap of $15,823,366 – no, I didn’t forget any zeros!

I first learned about GRE while reading an article published by The Canadian Dividend Blogger.

Shares Purchased = 2,100
Total Cost = $2,247.90
Increase in Annual Dividends = $126.00
Initial dividend yield = 5.61%

My forward 12-month dividends now stand at $5,647.02.

Kraft Increases Dividend

On October 1, Kraft increased its quarterly dividend to $0.525 from $0.50, or 5.0%. My YOC is now 4.61%.

The new Kraft started paying a dividend in Q1 of 2013. I was thus expecting a dividend increase in the next quarter.

I have updated my portfolio page to reflect this increase.

As of today, my dividend increases for 2013 are:

New Purchase - Baxter International, again

I added 30 more shares of BAX today.

May 2013 purchase: 75 @ $70.90 (+ $9.95 commission); initial dividend yield 2.35%

Sept 2013 purchase: 25 @ $66.85 (+ $9.95 commission); initial dividend yield 2.48%

Today’s purchase: 30 @ 63.84 (+9.95 commission); initial dividend yield 2.6%

My average cost per share, including commission, is $68.72. 30 shares of BDX will add $49.98 to my forward 12-month dividends, which is now $5,568.26.

Note: The yields above take into account a 15% dividend withholding tax as BAX is held in my TFSA.
