Enbridge Increases Dividend

On Thursday, Enbridge (ENB.TO or ENB.NYSE) increased its dividend by 11.5%, from $1.13 to $1.26 per year.

In January 2009, I bought 125 shares of Enbridge (ENB.TO) for $4998.75.

A 2:1 share split in 2011 as well as 7 of 16 dividends that were DRIPed has left me with 263 shares. I no longer DRIP as I prefer keeping the cash to purchase stocks when they come on sale.

ENB Dividends per year
2009 - $0.74
2010 - $0.85 (+15%)
2011 - $0.98 (+15%)
2012 - $1.13 (+15%)
2013 - $1.26 (+11.5%)

My initial yield was 3.7% ($0.74/$20). With the recent increase, my yield on cost is 6.3% ($1.26/$20). Today, the stock is overpriced and yields 3.0% @ $41.56.

In 2009, I received $185 in dividends.
In 2013, I will receive $331.38 in dividends.
And the stock price has doubled since my initial purchase.

Remember:

What’s not to love about dividend growth?
